Palinsesto (Palimpsest) (2014-2023)

During time spent in Italy, Linda began collecting public posters and billboards. When returning to the US, suitcases were packed with pieces of images and scraps. This became a type of urban archeology, revealing the layers of time, and combining the torn pieces to create new works of art.

*Palinsesto is the Italian word for palimpsest, referring to something reused or altered that still bears visible traces of its earlier form.

My Grandfather's Clock

“Still the clock kept the time with a soft and muffled chime
As we silently stood by his side
But it stopped short, never to go again
When the old man died”

-My Grandfather’s Clock, Henry Clay Work

These works are exploring the importance of time, and of the artist’s relationship to it.

Family Relationships

A deeply personal analysis of the nuclear family dynamic, and how the artist associates growing up within it. The subject of connections is prevalent, specifically in relationship with her daughter; and the heavy cognizance when those connections fray.
